Hawkinsville High School has been in its current location since 1975. The enrollment is approximately 500 students in grades 9 – 12. We offer two programs of study – college preparatory and technical preparatory – which prepare our students to continue their education or to enter the workplace or military service. Some students also participate in postsecondary options at area colleges and technical colleges. Additional options are Youth Apprenticeship, Diversified Cooperative Training (DCT), and Community Based Instruction (CBI). These programs are work-based programs coordinated with local business partners.   Our students also have many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities in the areas of sports, clubs and service organizations, academic competition teams, literary events, band, and yearbook staff. Parent organizations such as PTO, Big Red Boosters, and Band Boosters provide strong support for our school. Academic programs, work opportunities, and extracurricular offerings provide our students with a comprehensive high school experience.

Our Mission
Learning for a Lifetime

A Representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) will hold a financial aid workshop on October 11, 2011 at 6:00pm.   GSFC is the agency responsible for administering the HOPE Scholarship and Grant programs and all other state and lottery funded scholarships, grants, and service-cancelable loan programs.   HOPE changes and requirements will be discussed in detail.

GSFC will also present an overview of GAcollege411, a comprehensive online resource to help Georgians throughout the long process of planning, applying, and paying for college.

GAcollege411 helps students explore careers, prepare for the SAT and ACT, compare Georgia colleges, apply for college admission, research and apply for federal and state financial aid.  All junior and senior parents should make plans to attend the seminar.  Contact the guidance office for additional details.
